What the college says
Skills will draw on the established and academic fields of stylistics, linguistics, narratology and creative writing. A contemporary approach to the study of a range of literary and non literary discourses and texts. The opportunity to explore key aspects of both established and new literary texts; point of view and genre in prose fiction; voice and identity in poetry; interaction and conflict in drama. The study of representation of place in an anthology of non-literary texts (including spoken language, media texts and new technologies). A focus on students' own writing through textual intervention work.
What you need to get on
5 GSCEs grade 4 or above including Maths and a grade 5 in English Language and English Literature
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.

The A-level-equivalent step, and what universities and employers ask for.
