Throughout these courses, students are encouraged to develop their interest in and enjoyment of English Literature. Candidates will: • read widely and independently, both the set texts, and literature that they have selected for themselves. • engage critically and creatively with a substantial body of texts and ways of responding to them, including critical theory. • develop and effectively apply their knowledge of literary analysis and evaluation. • explore the contexts of the texts they are reading and others’ interpretations of them.

What you need to get on

In order to gain entry to The Boswells Sixth Form all students must achieve a minimum of 40 points from their best 8 GCSE subjects, including minimum grade 4 in English Language and Maths. You will need a minimum 6 Grade at GCSE in any subject you wish to study at A Level. Subject Specific: Grade 6 in English Literature and grade 5 in English Language.
