This course develops an understanding of the importance of literature and its significance in helping us to understand the world around us. You will study prose, poetry and drama from a variety of genres and authors as well as considering context as an influential factor in regards to literature. Topics studied can include: American Literature, Dystopian Worlds, Shakespeare, Modern Prose and Drama and Poetry.
What you need to get on
5 good GCSE grade passes (grade 4/5 or above) including Maths. It's strongly recommended you have a minimum grade B equivalent (grade 4/5) in English Language and Literature.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
