The course is for those who have a love of literature and enjoy reading. Students will be given a reading list and will be required to demonstrate their knowledge through the texts that they have read, Paper 1. Study of two texts: one Shakespeare play and one AQA Anthology of love poetry through the ages (pre-1900) •• written exam: 1 hour 30 minutes •• closed book Paper 2: Study of two prose texts. Exam will include an unseen prose extract •• written exam: 1 hour 30 minutes •• open book Books read include The Great Gatsby.
