What the college says

Paper 1 - we explore texts through the lens of the tragedy genre, considering how those texts both conform to and subvert traditional expectations and historical precedents of tragedy. The texts studied are Othello, Death of a Salesman and Keats' poetry. Paper 2 - we analyse Social Protest writing, with close study of The Handmaid's Tale, The Kite Runner and William Blake's poetry. Students also undertake a coursework unit, exploring two further texts of their own choice and studying literary theory.
