The Level 2 Engineering Certificate is a more technical route into the industry and is best suited to those students who are aiming to progress on to the Level 3 programme upon completion. You will have a keen interest in problem solving, design and how things work. This is a fantastic course if youre keen on starting a career in Engineering. This technical certificate will cover a variety of engineering processes and is for students who want to explore how simple components and complex machines are designed or maintained. With this qualification you could progress to an apprenticeship programme or into employment at a junior level as an Engineering Technician.
What you need to get on
4 x GCSEs at grade 3(D) or above, including Maths and English
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
