What the college says

The study programme is mainly practical based and you will learn in our modern welding and fabrication workshop. You will develop your practical skills and interact with local employers, who will share their knowledge and experience with you. You will also attend various exhibitions, such as the Duxford Engineering Technology Skills Exhibition. The study programme will also develop your personal, social and employability skills, which includes opportunities to work on community projects and to explore the various career pathways within the engineering industry.

What you need to get on

Three GCSEs at Grade 3 including maths and/or English, or a Level 1 qualification plus maths and/or English at Level 1.

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
