Do you enjoy working with your hands, making things? Then this could be the Level 2 course for you. Our mechanical engineering courses are designed with an emphasis on practical work. You will learn the principles which underpin mechanical engineering, and you'll quickly find yourself in our vibrant engineering workshops using a wide range of equipment such as lathes, milling machines, pillar drills, grinders and a number of hand tools. Upon completing this course you could find yourself working in the exciting world of manufacturing or progressing onto our Level 3 engineering or T-Level courses. So you could find yourself working for companies across the manufacturing, transport, aerospace and automotive sectors.

What you need to get on

You will need to have achieved both GCSE English and maths Grade 4/C or above and you will need an interest in engineering, manufacturing and production.

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
