What the college says

To become a fully qualified Electrician, candidates are required to complete the full Electrical Diploma. For those who do not have access to an employer or wish to gain an initial grading in the Electrical trade at the Level 2. Full-time Diploma provides an excellent introduction to the work involved and enables the successful candidate to progress onto a Level 3 Apprenticeship.

What you need to get on

You will require a minimum of English and Maths at Grades 9-4 (formerly A* to C) and two additional GCSE's at Grades 9 - 3 (formerly A* to D). Please note you will have to undergo a colour blindness test at your interview.

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
