What the college says

Year 2 electrical is a full-time programme designed for those who have completed year 1. Studying this qualification will build on your knowledge of the electrical industry, installing various electrical wiring and containment systems which can be used in a variety of environments including domestic, commercial and industrial premises. Alongside the practical you will complete four multiple choice theory examinations and two written assignments.

What you need to get on

4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and maths.

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
