What the college says

If you enjoy practical work and have an eye for detail, electrical installations could be a great career for you. Electricians install and maintain the equipment needed for the safe and efficient use of electricity, including fitting and repairing electrical circuits and wiring. During this course, you will study various units surrounding electrical installations and be assessment is through a combination of online multiple-choice exams and practical assessments. Study in our purpose-built electrical workshops to gain an insight into working within the electrical trade. Please note that this course is for school leavers aged 16-18. Adults aged 19+ can apply for one of our Level 2 courses.

What you need to get on

To start at Level 1 you will need an interest in becoming an electrician and have successfully completed a relevant Gateway Programme or have 2x GCSEs at grade 3 or equivalent.

How you are assessed

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.
