If you enjoy practical work and have an eye for detail, electrical installations could be a great career for you. Electricians install and maintain the equipment needed for the safe and efficient use of electricity, including fitting and repairing electrical circuits and wiring. During this course, you will study various units surrounding electrical installations and assessment is through a combination of online multiple-choice exams and practical assessments. Study in our purpose-built electrical workshops to gain an insight into working within the electrical trade.

What you need to get on

To start at Level 2 you will need a grade 4 in both maths and English. A grade 4 in physics is also desirable or have completed the level 1 programme.

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
