What the college says
This Level 2 course allows you to gain the knowledge and specialist craft skills of electrical installation in a workshop environment. Your practice and assessment on the installation of wiring systems, together with the relevant theory of electrical installation, will prepare you for progression into the electrical industry, further study or an apprenticeship. You will spend most of your time working hands-on in the electrical workshop, but the course also covers essential theoretical aspects.
What you need to get on
A minimum of four GSCEs at grade 4, including English and maths or successful completion of the Level 1 Electrical qualification and good progress with English and maths. Applicants without suitable practical experience may be advised to commence study at Level 1.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
