The course aims to develop your understanding of the English Language what it is and how it works and how it has changed since 1550. Students will explore a wide variety of English Language texts spoken written and multi modal and will learn how to analyse language use in different contexts. br / br / Topics studied will include: br / span style=white space: pre; /span You will study “language frameworks” to help you analyse language in the following areas: Language Variation. br / span style=white space: pre; /span Child Language. br / span style=white space: pre; /span An investigation of areas from a choice of the following: Gender Identity Journalism or Power. br / span style=white space: pre; /span Non

What you need to get on

You need a minimum of five GCSEs at 9 4 including grade 5 in English Language and grade 4 in Maths. br / br / You need to be able to analyse different texts paying close attention to how language has an impact on a variety of audiences. You also need to have a keen interest in how language works and how it is used to influence others.

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
