Geography embraces a variety of approaches to the examination of issues and questions associated with the spatial organisation of society. It is a major vehicle in stimulating an appreciation of the modern world and of World Citizenship. During the course you will study four different themes: Theme 1 Dynamic Landscapes. Theme 2 Dynamic Places. Theme 3 Physical Systems and Sustainability. Theme 4 Human Systems and Geopolitics. The course includes primary data collection and geographical investigation with 4 different sessions of fieldwork recommended across the course. Fieldwork visits will form part of the course.

What you need to get on

You will need to have gained at least 5 GCSE subjects at Level 4 or above with at least a Grade 5 in Geography. If you have not studied Geography previously, acceptance onto the course will be at the discretion of the subject leader. Students should have a keen interest in exploring such relevant topics as natural disasters, climate change, rich/poor divide, globalisation, biodiversity, current affairs and a willingness to explore new ideas and an ability to communicate your ideas effectively.
