Note! Not Available as a Free Course For Jobs outside GLA or Devolved Areas. div Economics is the study of how society produces distributes and consumes resources and wealth. It tries to explain why we make and buy different things and how the government manages and runs the economy. In both years students will study related topics but with different levels of complexity. /div p /p div Both years are divided into halves; Microeconomics the study of individual markets and their workings. Macroeconomics the study of the workings of the whole economy. /div p /p div In the first year students will study: The operations of markets and market failure and the national economy in a global context. /div p /p div In the second year
What you need to get on
div You need a minimum of five GCSEs at 9 4 including grade 5 in Maths and grade 4 in English Language. /div p /p div No previous knowledge of Economics is required however an interest in current affairs and recent history is an advantage as is the willingness to engage in discussion and debate. /div
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
