What the college says
The course applies economic concepts and theories in a range of contexts to explain real world phenomena. It helps students to a) see how Economics contributes to the wider political and social environment and b) to develop an understanding and ability to use a range of concepts as well as to develop an understanding of current economic issues, problems and institutions that affect everyday life. Students will learn to analyse, explain and evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the market economy and the role of government within it.
What you need to get on
Standard entry requirements: Maths/English Lang at grade 4. Based on A8 scores we will offer the following pathways: Vocational Pathway (selecting only Vocational Courses): 40, Combination Pathway (selecting a mixture of A Level and Vocational): 45, A Level Pathway (selecting only A Levels): 50. Subject specific requirements: A grade 6 in Maths and English Lang or Lit. No previous Economics background is required however they will need at least a grade 4 if the student sat GCSE Economics
