Economics is a very relevant and up-to-date subject, in which we spend time analysing and debating many current national and international issues. Topics covered include: Year 1(AS) - Operation of markets and market failure: price determination; production, costs and revenues; competitive markets. The national economy in a global context: measurement of UK economic performance and economic policy. Year 2 (A Level) - Individuals, firms, markets and market failure: economic decision making, poverty and inequality, the labour market and government intervention. National and international economy: UK and international economic performance, financial markets and monetary, fiscal and supply side policies. Economic principles and issues: case study context, financial markets and behavioural economics

Centre requirements plus at least a grade 6 in English and Mathematics.
