In GCE Economics you will look at the fundamental forces which affect our lives, such as employment, prices, international trade and poverty. Economists are often in healthy debate with each other over these issues. It is this controversy which makes economics lively and interesting and which allows you the opportunity to make your own judgements and form your own opinions.

What you need to get on

College Entry Requirements: Minimum of 5 good grades at GCSE, including English and maths at a strong pass. Subject Specific Requirements: A grade 5 or above in maths and English.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
