Economics is a scientific study of how people and institutions go about producing and consuming goods and services, and how they face the challenge of making choices in a world of scarce resources. Our teaching team provides an opportunity for the student to acquire general knowledge of the methods by which goods and services are allocated and incomes are generated, and why prices, employment, money and financial markets behave as they do. The overriding objective of the department is that teachers want to use their expertise and experience to deliver high quality, motivating lessons to bring this vibrant subject alive, making teaching and learning Economics both exciting and rewarding for all.

What you need to get on

GCSE Mathematics and English Language or Literature grade 6 or higher. If students have studied Economics GCSE, minimum grade for entry is a 6.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
