What the college says
This course will provide you with the knowledge and understanding of babies and young children from birth to seven years of age with applied knowledge in the early years 0-5 years. You will develop skills and knowledge to prepare you to work with children. We will encourage you to take responsibility for your own learning. This will help prepare you for further study or for progression to direct employment in the Early Years sector.
What you need to get on
Three GCSEs at grade 3 or above including English Language or Maths. At least one GCSE needs to be at grade 4 or above. A Level 1 qualification in a related field.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
