What the college says

The course requires you to develop and apply an analytical approach to making, performing, interpreting and understanding drama and theatre. You will need to understand the place of relevant theoretical research in informing the processes and practices involved in practical exploration. You will experience a range of opportunities to create text-based and devised theatre work as a theatre maker and as an audience member in live theatre. You will understand and experience the collaborative relationship between various roles within theatre by developing and demonstrating a range of theatre-making skills.

What you need to get on

6 GCSE Grade 9-4, must include grade 4 or above in English Language & Maths. It is useful to have taken Drama at GCSE level but not essential. It is important that you are interested in gaining an understanding of how theatre and plays work and you are keen to be involved with performances.

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
