What the college says
BTEC National Certificate - students are required to complete three units of coursework from the following: Dance Performance, Choreographing Dance, Dance Improvisation, The Healthy Performer, Developing Contemporary Dance Technique, Jazz, Tap or Urban Dance. BTEC Subsidiary Diploma - a further three units from the list above to complete 6 units in total.
What you need to get on
It is not necessary to have studied this subject at GCSE or BTEC First. It is preferable that students have a GCSE pass in Science and English. An interest in sport and participation in at least one activity either inside or outside of school is essential. If GCSE was studied a minimum of grade C is needed. At BTEC First a pass award would be required. An interest in coaching at least one sport would be advantageous.
