This course has been chosen to maximise students' opportunity to study a personalised course with a good balance of practical work and theory; ensuring that students are academically prepared for university study as well as other work and study options. Our A Level productions are renowned for their professionalism and originality and are the highlight of the course for all students who love to perform and produce exciting theatre and drama. We have a practical approach to teaching the A Level Drama and Theatre Studies. All students will be learning through their own experiences of seeing and making theatre, as well as through their study of a wide range of styles of theatre. Students will also explore the ideas of selected practitioners through the application of those ideas to their own performance work.

What you need to get on

Grade 5-9 in Maths and English plus three other GCSE subjects at grade 5 or above AND Drama Grade 6, BTEC Distinction or evidence of subject ability if not previously studied.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.

The A-level-equivalent step, and what universities and employers ask for.
