In this course you will gain a deeper understanding of how theatre works and you will have opportunities to be a performer, a designer, a director and an active workshop and audience member. In all these areas you will gain skills and understanding that will prove to be valuable and rewarding into the future. What you will do • Work with four performance text exploring directorial and performance possibilities • Devise and perform your own piece of theatre • Stage your own interpretation of a text chosen by your teacher • Study the work of various theatre practitioners • Attend and review a range of live theatrical performances • Learn and apply the basics of stage design and tech. Future prospects: • Helps entrance to Drama Schools for both academic and theatre training • Stage management • Entertainment and arts administration • Excellent basis for humanities, expressive arts degree courses and any career needing effective communication, i.e. teaching You will also be able to choose from several university courses e.g. Drama, Drama and English, Acting, Performing Arts and also Technical and Stage Management.

What you need to get on

Grade 6 or above, GCSE Drama.

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
