What the college says
You will attend both theory and practical sessions and work in a realistic commercial salon environment under direct supervision of tutors. You will cover a variety of hairdressing units including shampoo and conditioning, cutting, styling and basic colouring techniques.
What you need to get on
It is preferable that students have 4 GCSEs at grade A-E. A good standard of written and spoken English is essential. You should also have a record of good attendance and punctuality. You will need to purchase a kit containing all equipment, also uniform is required and is to be worn for all practical sessions.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
