What the college says
If you are currently working or want to become a apprentice hairdresser or stylist, this practical course will provide you with the knowledge and skills to operate to current hairdressing industry standards. You should have creative flair and good manual dexterity, be a good communicator and have a desire to work with the general public in a professional manner.
What you need to get on
No previous experience or qualifications required. You'll need to be employed in a salon for a minimum of 30 hours per week.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
