What the college says

The Level 1 Bricklaying Diploma aims to prepare you for employment or further training within the bricklaying industry. You will carry out your practical training in our dedicated workshops, learning skills such as how to construct garden walls, basic bricklaying, constructing cavity walling for houses, and how to read drawings and position buildings. You will also develop the hand skills that are needed to use the wide variety of tools required in the industry. You will visit real working sites where possible, and may even have opportunities to practice your new skills on real buildings. To achieve your diploma you will study different units, which include practical activities in brickwork as well as employability skills and health and safety.

What you need to get on

Two GCSEs at grades 2 or above (Old GCSE grade E or above) or equivalent (to include English or maths), or any one of the following, an Entry 3 qualification, a Certificate in Skills for Working Life or Life Skills, an ESOL Entry L3 qualification.

How you are assessed

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.
