Students will take part in this introductory course building a foundation of knowledge and skills over the course of the academic year to support progression on to level 2 or an apprenticeship. The course covers a range of units including health & safety as well as practical elements such as building a brick wall, a cavity wall and block walling. Students can go out on work placement as well as experiencing further enrichment with site visits and hearing from local employers visiting the college to deliver masterclasses and talks around industry standards and career progression.

No formal entry requirements in bricklaying, English and maths GCSE Grade 4 or above an advantage but not essential

How you are assessed

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.
