Fine-tune your existing skills and become a well-rounded musician ready for university or a career in the music industry. This highly practical course will give you the opportunity to improve your performance skills, with activities including live band and solo performances, composition and arrangement (using Cubase, Logic and Sibelius), improvisation and notation. You will also learn about ear training, marketing, promotion and events. Performances and practical tasks are the main methods of assessment but you will need to complete some written assignments You will have the opportunity to perform in front of people in the theatre, live room and other external venues You will also be encouraged to attend live gigs and performances throughout the year This is a study programme which includes English, maths and work experience in addition to your main programme

Five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including English and maths at grade C/4 or above.

How you are assessed

One subject in depth, assessed largely through coursework and projects.
