Design and Technology is an inspiring and rigorous course, which has been designed to strengthen learners’ critical thinking and problem solving skills within a creative environment enabling learners to design and make high quality products that solve real world problems. Students will consider their own and others’ needs, wants, aspirations and values. Visits to the Design Museum and The New Designers Graduate Show are arranged. As part of the London Design Festival (September), students are encouraged to visit 100% Design, Designers block, Design Junction and Open House in their own time for cultural enrichment.

You need to have taken Design and Technology at GCSE and achieved a grade 6 (or above) to take it at A level.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
