Design Engineering is focused towards engineered and electronic products and systems. Students completing the course successfully will have taken design risks, showing innovation and enterprise whilst considering their role as responsible designers and citizens. They will have developed intellectual curiosity about design and manufacture, worked collaboratively to develop and refine their ideas, gained an insight into engineering industries (particularly Electronic, Mechanical and Structural Engineering), developed the capacity to think creatively, innovatively and critically and become independent and critical thinkers who can adapt their technical knowledge and understanding to different design situations.

What you need to get on

5 GCSEs at grade 4 and above. Each course carries its own individual requirments.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
