What the college says
The Customer Service Apprenticeship reflects the ability to select and use relevant knowledge, ideas, skills and procedures to complete well-defined tasks and address straightforward problems. It includes taking responsibility for completing tasks and procedures against performance objectives or criteria. An Apprenticeship is a vocational, work-based programme that demonstrates competence and knowledge. With a combination of on-the-job training and assessments, and training through an approved body, Apprenticeships demonstrate the individual's competence to do a job to a national standard. In addition to the core Apprenticeship requirements, there are separate requirements which include, Maths, English, ICT, Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR) and Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS). A NVQ at level 2 for apprentices working in administration in all sectors and occupations of employment.
What you need to get on
Apprentices without Level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve this level and take the test for level 2 prior to the end of the course.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
