This course provides the skills and underpinning knowledge you need to become recognised as a bricklayer. You will gain practical experience in our fully equipped professional workshops. As well as bricklaying, you will learn about arches and openings, various types of walling and all aspects of building. Areas you will study will include: -Storage of materials and equipment. -Erect and dismantle basic working platforms. -Working efficiently. -Brick and block work walling. -Set out basic buildings. -Construct walling detail. -Signalling for the movement of loads. -Carry out maintenance to non-structural carpentry work.
What you need to get on
Qualifications needed: -You must have a full Level 1qualification in a relevant subject area. Required experience: We welcome all applicants without any prior experience or knowledge in this area. You will need motivation to achieve and have a passion to gain skills enabling you to progress this as a career in the future.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
