What the college says
This qualification is a basic craft introduction to the Bricklaying industry. This course gives you the knowledge and skills to enable you to achieve a recognised Bricklaying trade qualification which could lead to employment or an apprenticeship.
What you need to get on
Essential Requirements:--A good grasp of basic Maths and English--Desirable Requirements:--Achieved a level 1 qualification in Bricklaying--Achieved 3 GCSEs grade D and above including Maths and English--A strong commitment to adopt a 'work ready' approach, taking responsibility for your own development and behaviour--Completed 30 hours or more of work experience within the construction industry--An Information, Advice and Guidance session is not necessary, learners can direct enrol onto this course if they meet the entry requirement.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
