What the college says
Core Maths is aimed at students who would like to continue to develop their understanding of how maths is applied in the real world. Core Maths involves building skills in modelling and interpreting solutions in context of a real life problem, personal finance, working with data and understanding risk in probability. You can expect to analyse data, including using spreadsheets and graphing software, to solve meaningful everyday mathematical problems. The course builds your employable skills for sectors such as finance, management, analysis, modelling and would support studies in A-Level Geography, Biology, Psychology, Business studies, Economics, Sociology, Chemistry, Physics, History and Politics.
