Core Maths ( Level 3)
at Norton Hill Academy, Radstock · school or sixth form
What the college says
Core Maths is an AS Level course taught over two year specifically designed for students who wish to continue developing their Mathematics and problem solving expertise in the Sixth Form, but do not wish to study Mathematics AS or A-Level. Core Maths is not just a cut down version of the A-Level Mathematics course, but instead focusses on the how students can apply the Maths they already know from GCSE to solve extended real-world problems. There are some new Mathematical formulae and techniques to learn, but much of the course will spent learning to harness the power of technology, such as spreadsheets and mathematical web-applications, to investigate real-world scenarios, test hypothesise and make suggestions.
