Core Maths is a new Maths course, first examined in June 2016. It has been created in association with employers, universities and professionals as a valuable way of continuing mathematical studies beyond GCSEs without following an A level course. Core Maths has been designed to maintain and develop real life problem solving skills by strengthening and extending existing skills and enables students to tackle meaningful mathematical problems linked to every day lives.

What you need to get on

Minimum entry requirement to the Arthur Terry 6th form: Gaining a minimum 33 points from a minimum of 7 GCSEs which must include English Language and Maths with a minimum point score of 4. (see conversion table on the Arthur Terry School website) Individual subject entry requirements must follow the Pathway entry requirements table also available on the Arthur Terry School website. Up to 2 BTEC/OCR National qualifications at Level 2 Merit can be used for 6th form entry. Each BTEC will count as 1 of the 7 GCSE grades Minimum subject entry requirements: 5 in GCSE Maths and 5 in GCSE English Language or Literature
