What the college says
Core Mathematics is designed for students who wish to continue with maths at sixth form but who do not wish to study maths A-level. It would be ideal to support A-levels in other subjects with a significant maths content, such as psychology, geography, biology, economics, business studies, computing. It also provides important life skills with a focus on data analysis and finance.
What you need to get on
Grade 5-9 in Maths and English plus three other GCSE subjects at grade 5 or above.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

The A-level-equivalent step, and what universities and employers ask for.
