A grade 4 or higher in GCSE Science is a requirement for many higher education courses and careers, including those in science, teaching and nursing.Over the duration of the course, you will be equipped with a solid understanding of fundamental biological concepts and principles across biology, chemistry and physics. Lessons will take place in our specialist science laboratories and will combine theory lectures and practical sessions.The Combined Science GCSE is equivalent to two GCSEs, graded using the linear 9-1 system, with examinations in June.

There are two pathways available for this qualification - Foundation Level and Higher Level.For the Foundation Level, you will need:GCSE Science at grade 2For the Higher Level, you will need:GCSE Science at grade 3All applicants must have an assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.
How you are assessed
Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
