These qualifications are intended for those who want to gain the knowledge and abilities that will enable you to gain the underlying knowledge of electrical installation. The Level 2 qualification is designed for new entrants to the industry, providing them with the basic skills and experience they need. If you are interested in working in the electrical installation sector, this course will provide you with the ideal platform on which to make your career choices. The course is a split 50/50 practical and theory which will allow you to learn and develop various skills relating to the electrical industry. The Study programme will consist of multiple elements which you will need to complete: > Qualification > Individual and group tutorial sessions > Industry related work placement (if appropriate) > Development of English and mathematics. You will be required to undertake a formal qualification if you have not already achieved English and/or Maths at Level 2. > Development of enterprise and employability skills.
What you need to get on
You will need to have achieved a Level 1 Diploma in Electrical Installation or 4 GCSEs at grades 9-4 (A-C) including English and maths. You will be required to attend an interview at the college for the courses and we will request a school or college report. If you have not achieved a C grade or above in English or maths, you will as part of your course be required to work towards this as part of your study programme.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
