Bricklaying is one of the traditional trades both in the UK and around the world - Sir Winston Churchill is known to have enjoyed laying bricks and building walls during his lifetime. Those studying bricklaying will learn a variety of skills to enable them to build, repair and maintain the country's housing stock. If you are interested in becoming a bricklayer or working in associated trades this course will provide you with the basis required to commence your career. This is a practical course which will allow you to learn and develop various skills relating to the trade. The Study programme of the level 1 in Bricklaying will consist of five key elements which you will need to complete: > Qualification > Individual and group tutorial sessions > Industry related work placement (if appropriate) > Development of English and mathematics. You will be required to undertake a formal qualification if you have not already achieved English and/or Maths at Level 2. > Development of enterprise and employability skills.
What you need to get on
There are no formal entry requirements however, a keen interest in the subject is essential. We will request a school or college report and you will attend an interview at the college.

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.

A first step that builds towards Level 2.
