By 2040, the number of people aged over 64 in Britain is expected to grow from 9.5 million to 15 million. The population is aging, meaning more people will live with serious chronic illness and need end of life care. The problems faced and support needed by people nearing the end of life is wide-ranging and a good understanding of pain management, support and quality of life is essential for all carers. Within our Level 2 Principles of End of Life Care course you will develop your own knowledge and skills in supporting and caring for patients, friends and family during the emotional and sensitive time that is end of life care. This course will cover the entire spectrum of end of life care, including the planning that goes into end of life care, understanding a carers role during the time of death and the understanding of loss and grief within end of life care. Suitable for: This course is ideal for individuals working within the Health and Social Care sector or involved with caring for adults on end of life care. Course units: Unit 1: Understand how to work in end of life care Unit 2: Understand how to provide support to manage pain and discomfort Unit 3: End of life care and dementia Unit 4: Understanding the role of the care worker at time of death Unit 5: Understand loss and grief in end of life care Unit 6: Principles of care planning in end of life care You will ideally need to have access to Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Publisher and PowerPoint as you may nee
