This course is designed to inspire and motivate students to consider a career Science and allow them to develop the skills and gain broad knowledge required to enter employment in the sector. As well as to help students progress in further or higher education, develop advanced learning, gain employability skills that employers seek within the industry, and build their confidence and self-esteem.
What you need to get on
GCSE English grade 3 or above, or Level 1 Functional Skills English, or successful completion of a Level 1 qualification in a related subject. You will also be required to complete an initial English assessment that indicates you have the appropriate level of English ability for this course.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
