Protecting people from infection is an essential element of providing high quality care, especially considering the capacity some potentially life-threatening infections have to spread within care environments. Our Principles of the Prevention and Control of Infection in Health Care Settings course aims to prepare you for tackling the outbreak of infection in hospitals and healthcare settings by aiding you in understanding the many causes of infection and will give you an understanding of how infections are caused, how they spreads, as well as how you can help control and prevent them. Suitable for: This course is ideal for individuals working or wishing to work in an environment where preventing infections is important. Course units: Unit 1: Principles of the causes and spread of infection in health care settings Unit 2: Principles of the importance of personal hygiene and health in the prevention and control of infection in health care settings Unit 3: Principles of decontamination, cleaning and waste management in health care settings Unit 4: Principles of infection prevention and control in a health care setting You will ideally need to have access to Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Publisher and PowerPoint as you may need to download and edit documents for your online course.
