What the college says

The AQA Level 3 certificate in Mathematical Studies is a new, post-16 qualification designed to equip learners to develop and apply real-world mathematics skills, and progress to university, employment, or higher apprenticeships in a wide range of industry sectors, or professional training. The course reflects and advances the content of GCSE mathematics, which helps to provide a smooth learning transition. It supports a wide range of Level 3 study, notably supporting the analytical aspects of many other courses, such as Geography, Economics, and Social Sciences, etc., whilst preparing students for the mathematical requirements of a number of higher education courses. This is worth half an A Level and can contribute up to 28 points towards UCAS applications. Students would opt for a level 3 certificate in mathematical studies in addition to their other A Level or BTEC qualifications.
