This full-time Childcare course will provide you with an introduction to a wide range of key subject areas within Childcare and Education. This qualification is designed to help you build the knowledge and skills needed when working with children and young people in social care, learning and development support services from birth to 19 years of age. It covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas working in children's environments. This qualification is fulltime and designed for 16-18-year olds wanting a career in the Education and Childcare or social services sector. This course offers you the opportunity to explore childcare services before specialising in Early Years or Health and Social Care.
What you need to get on
You will need a minimum of a GSCE grade 2 in English and Maths. You also need a clear DBS and a willingness to work with others as a team.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
