What the college says

The role of the bricklayer is to lay bricks, blocks, and stone accurately and consistently, often to an architects specification. Bricklayers work inside and outside of properties, building and repairing walls as well as specialist brickwork such as chimneys, fireplaces, and decorative work. This course is designed to prepare students to be work ready, creating a real world bricklaying experience delivered by passionate individuals with many years experience in the trade. Students will be taught in first-class, industry-standard workshops, building training walls and a multitude of other structures, alongside studying how the construction industry operates in well-equipped classrooms and computer suites. Practical sessions are delivered in simulated working environments with professional tools and equipment to make study as close to a real working environment as possible. To bolster progression the College works with local employers who contribute to training delivery. Employers will provide demonstrations, talks and where possible work placements.
