This qualification is for learners 16 years old or over who want to study business. This qualification will provide learners with the opportunity to develop an understanding of the business environment and to focus on a specific aspect of business through applied learning. There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification, but, ideally, learners will typically have or be working towards GCSEs at grade 4/grade C or above including maths and English. Single course - Learners will take 3 mandatory units on the single course, The business environment, Business Resources, Customers and Communication the first two are externally assessed examinations and last mandatory unit is coursework based. A further 2 coursework units are optional units.

All subjects have an average points score (APS) requirement; this is the average GCSE grade achieved in Year 11.

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
