It is ideal for you to develop an understanding of the essential skills required to work successfully in a business environment, and gives you an understanding of business culture and responsibilities. This qualification also allows you to develop the skills required to solve problems, communicate and work effectively with others, and gives you the opportunity to learn how to manage and improve your own performance in a business environment.

What you need to get on

A minimum of 5 GCSE subjects graded 9-3 or equivalent including maths or English.

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
